What's the process like if I want to adopt?

The adoption process for British Shorthair kittens is quite standard. If you're interested in adopting one of these adorable kittens, I will send over a contract for your review and signature, along with my Venmo details for the adoption fees and down deposit. Once I receive the deposit, I will email you information on how to prepare for your little one's arrival, covering everything from shots and health records to food, litter, and toys. Throughout the weeks, I'll keep you updated on milestones and growth, and I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. On kitten pickup day, you will pay the remaining balance and pick up your new companion. Each kitten will come with a few days' worth of hard food, canned food, a blanket with their siblings' scent, toys, and most importantly, their health record showing their first vaccinations, deworming, and other essential information. Kittens are typically ready to go home at around 10 weeks old, but if I feel they aren't quite ready, I will keep them a little longer and notify those on the kitten waitlist.

We unfortunately do not allow home visits during the adoption process for various reasons. The main reason is that British Shorthair kittens do not have an existing immune system capable of fighting off anything brought into the home until a couple of weeks after their first vaccine, which coincides with when they go home. For the protection of the kitten and the litter, this policy is one I have had to adopt after learning the hard way. Additionally, there is a security concern with strangers coming in and out of my home, as expensive cats can attract criminals. However, I do offer FaceTime for those interested in joining the kitten waitlist, and I can provide information on adoption fees at that time!

We do not ship cargo, but I have met adopters at my local airport to streamline the adoption process for British Shorthair kittens. Adopters can pick up the kitten as their carry-on, and we also collaborate with a travel nanny, which costs $600+. If you're interested in adopting a kitten, please join our kitten waitlist. To join the kitten waitlist for our British Shorthair kittens, there is an adoption fee of $300. This fee allows you to select a kitten before the general public and secures your position for first pick, second pick, or whichever pick number you receive. If you decide to pass on the current litter, you will remain on the waitlist for the next one. Being first pick ensures that you retain that position for future litters. If you are second pick and the person ahead of you chooses a kitten, you will move up to first pick for the next litter. Should you choose to adopt a kitten from the current litter, the $300 waitlist fee will be deducted from the overall price of the kitten. Please note that there is a contract for the waitlist, so having some preferences about gender and color is helpful for this process, although you are not obligated to stick to them.

The cost of British Shorthair kittens can vary based on the season, the traffic of the business (supply and demand), the most sought-after parent, and overall quality. Just like any business, supply and demand can significantly influence adoption fees. I have momma cats that produce more costly kittens compared to others. Some mothers have small litters while others have large litters, which can also impact the price. Generally, my pricing is based on the overall quality of the kitten. Through years of showing and breeding, I have learned what a quality kitten looks like based on TICA standards. 

The average price for a Lilac, Blue, or Fawn British Shorthair kitten is between $2,500 and $2,800. For a Golden, the average price is around $2,900. The average price for a Color Point is also between $2,500 and $2,800, while Silver Shaded, Chinchilla, or Ticked kittens can command an average price of $3,500.
